Visitors always ask about the noise coming from our locker room before games. It isn't music — it's the Blackwater huddle, a twenty-seven-year-old ritual where every squad, from under-8s to elite, stacks hands and shouts the same three words: “Together. Tough. Blackwater.”
Rookies carry the bags (and love it)
Every newcomer gets locker-room duties: balls pumped, bibs folded, water filled. It sounds old-fashioned, but it works — earning your place through service bonds a squad faster than any team talk. Veterans remember doing it, and they look after the rookies in return.
The wall of hands
Our corridor wall carries the handprint of every championship captain since 1998, painted in club red. Youth players walk past it to training. You can see them counting the years until their own print goes up.
“Culture is what you applaud. We applaud unselfishness until it becomes our identity.”
Stories, not speeches
Before finals, coaches don't give speeches — alumni do. Former players return to tell one story each: the comeback, the bus ride, the teammate who believed in them. History does the motivating for us.
Everyone eats together
After home games the clubhouse serves every squad, every age, at long shared tables. Point guards sit with under-11s; elite players clear plates beside beginners. Family isn't a slogan here — it's a seating plan.
Come feel it yourself at a training session visit or join the club through our membership plans. The huddle has room for one more.
